Rumors are flying around that big G is going to enter the hardware market with a new phone. A pure Google-branded phone, will be sold directly and through retailers and might come out early 2010. The phone will be produced by a major phone manufacturer but will have Google branding and the inside word from unconfirmed sources claim that Google is not willing to compromise the phone’s design or features . Like the iPhone for Apple, this phone will be Google’s pure vision of what a phone should be and will complement Android at all levels. We don’t yet know what the device will look like, how big it will be, or even if it has a physical keyboard.

Most companies deny the existence of products until the day they announce them. Apple scoffed at the notion that they’d ever build a phone until they announced the iPhone, for example. The last thing Google wants is a lot of confusion among handset manufacturers just when those manufacturers are putting the finishing touches on their own Android phones. If this is true then this will be a major blow to the other manufactures who backed Google with Android. There are also rumors that the Korean phone manufacturer LG will be helping Google with the device manufacturing. In a recent CNET article Google’s Andy Rubin said : “We’re not making hardware…We’re enabling other people to build hardware,” and “Rubin, vice president of engineering for Android at Google, scoffed at the notion that the company would “compete with its customers” by releasing its own phone.”

Unconfirmed Reports also claim the G-Phone to be a Data Only, VoIP centric device. Users could still make calls just like a normal phone but the calls would use data.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important. Have you tried the ipad? you can get one free at FreshGiftCard.com
